Bringing It Home

Bringing It Home

Welcome to the Dr Duck website and my first blog entry. I appreciate you finding your way here and sincerely hope you enjoyed a great Labor Day Weekend with family and friends, maybe taking in your first wing shoot of the 24-25 season. Hunting season is finally back!

In case you aren’t familiar with us, my name is Billy Campbell. I got a buddy, Dennis Loosier, AKA Dr Duck, who has worked incredibly hard over the last thirty years or so to find mallard ducks. After struggling for years to learn a game that no one was willing to share with us, hard work paid off and we began to find some consistent success hunting public lands in the South. Fast forward to around 2012, a super talented young man, Benjamin Potter with Cana Outdoors found us on social media, reached out and wanted to document our story. I am very thankful for Ben, his creativity, appreciation of the outdoors and his overwhelming desire to serve others. His sharing our story of putting in the hard work with friends to find success on public land led us to believe we should continue ourselves, to share our duck hunting passion through video and social in an attempt to grow and preserve what according to the numbers, had become a declining sport. To share with others what input we could, lessons we’d learned, to create excitement and passion to maybe drive someone else to get out here and get after ‘em.

Our mission is now sharing our public land duck hunting journey, good or bad, providing insight, encouraging other fellow outdoorsmen and women to get outside, utilize public lands and treat each other with respect while operating with a high level of integrity in the outdoors. Who knows, maybe we will even find a duck or two along the way. #sameteam

The Dr Duck Company and this site has been run for the last few years by our friend Kason Coder in Bixby, Oklahoma. Kason is a fine young man, hard worker and very creative person. He recently determined he should go a different direction with his growing family and we are excited about that opportunity for him. It came at the same time we were evaluating where we were and where we thought we needed to be. These processes prompted us to move the Dr Duck Company operation back home to East Texas and take more ownership of this end of our journey.  Dennis and I are personally working the online store and social media, along with my son, who has recently retired from the military and of course help from our family, who without their incredible support through this entire time, none of this would be possible. We offer a variety of branded clothing and gear on the site and if you sign up for our newsletter, you will continue to get this blog emailed to you and be updated on new gear and restocking of old favorites. We appreciate your patience through this transition as we evaluate all of our inventory, products offered and current practices. Thank you for your continued support of the Dr Duck Company.

Be sure to keep up with another exciting season by subscribing to the Dr Duck YouTube channel, the Dr Duck Waterfowl Podcast on iTunes and Spotify and connect with us on social media by following  @dr_duck  @thefowlhunter  @thafudd  and  @drduckco  #enjoythejourney

Great first blog Billy. Love watching y’all and sharing the journey. Numbers are always great but being in God’s creation with your friends and family are what it’s about. Like you always say, it’s about the journey and I agree. Love the content. God bless you all and the content you continue to put out. Safe travels and best of luck to you this season.
